There are a
few a lot of things I won’t buy from at grocery store. I think the two biggest offenders though, are bottled salad dressing and canned frosting. Both so easy to make and you just can’t compare the two alongside a homemade version. Canned frosting has to be the biggest scam on earth. I get the heebies just thinking about it and as far as I’m concerned, it should be banned from man kind. But were here to talk about dressing today so let’s move on.
Bottled dressing just doesn’t make sense. It’s made with ingredients you can’t pronounce, loaded with sugar and it’s one the easiest things to make at home. So at the risk of sounding like the food snob that I am, will you please stop buying dressing in a bottle and try to make your own? I promise that once you do, it will be hard to go back.
Balsamic vinaigrette is a favorite around my house. I make it often and since I’m cooking for clients all week, I made a big batch so they could have it in their fridge. Making dressing in the blender is EASY. And I repeat, EASY.Through everything in, hit blend and voila, you’re done. Store in the fridge in a mason jar or tupperware or better yet- rinse out a bottle of store bought dressing and it should keep up to two weeks.
We’ll save canned frosting for another day. Just promise you’ll stop buying that too.
